In Thorne & Boulding we have two quality players, but I feel they don't function that well as a partnership. We look a little lightweight, even though we are scoring goals.

I'm not saying Barry is a top drawer player, far from it. He does, however, have a nuisance value that keeps defenders occupied. I believe that the ball stays in the final third of the pitch a lot longer when Bazza is playing.

As we seem to be playing an increasing number of hit and hope high balls, then surely it makes sense to have a big, awkward lump in the firing line?

A Thorne / Conlon partnership served us pretty well in the second half of last season. I'd be inclined to go with these two with Boulding on the bench.

It will be interesting to see if they get a chance tomorrow night.

we don't play top Bouldings strenghts really - he's done well to get 4 goals and has hit the woodwork 3 or 4 times - a 4-3-3 with Conlon Thorne and Boulding is an option in some games, maybe not tomorrow as Boulding is injured.

Spot on Wisey!

The thing with Boulding is he likes the ball along the ground rather than in the air! He did so well at Mansfield last year because he was a good player in a poor side, therefor all the play was centred around him!
