Was really looking forward to seeing City, something I aint done for ages!!
I have to say we we were absolutley woeful, I think we had 2 chances all night and scored one of them:eek:
EVAN - Made a great save, no chance with the goals
TJ - Looks a cracking young player, looks solid and good on the ball
LEE - At fault for the winner, beaten in the air by the smallest man on the pitch, not fit to clean Wetheralls boots:rolleyes
CLARK - Solid as a rock, impressed with him.
OBRIEN - Looked nervous, still very young and raw played OK though.
COLBECK - Looked dangerous at times, lacking a final killer touch, still very raw looking and a decent player given time
FURMAN - Solid if uspectacular, too quiet for a central midfielder.
MCLAREN - Easily the worst player on the pitch, looks a lazy very odinary player.
NIX - Quiet game
THORNE - Class palyer. looked tired, McCall right to take off.
CONLON - Superb in defence, great touches can see why the boo boys would target him, does a mountain of ugly work unnoticed.
Very, very poor performance beaten by a poor team. Central midfield was very poor and Mclaren looks very average to me.
Thought the referee was superb and so were the City fans, hats off to you guys watching that standard of football week in week out.

yeah although picture wasnt great, the CM area looks a big problem. you can't afford to have a CM area as the weak link. I think our defence may even be seen in a better light with a better CM, as on the evidence of tonight there is nothing to protect our defence. they had so much fckig time it was unbelievable and just waltzed thru as they liked. as much as conlon did good defensive cover this really sums up our predicament - a striker is used to almost shore up the defense. hardly inspiring really, i'm not slagging conlon just wondering if this shows an overly negative approach away from home.

Midfield has been dodgy for years, i thought it would be the first area Macca sorted. Seemed to work in patches last year with Nix but this year McLaren is a massive disappointment

Maclaren is a ****ing lazy useless ****.
People rave on about Furman, but he runs all over the pitch and then gets caught out of position and the oppos midfield just walk straight through us.
Lee is fckuing crap.
Colbeck needs to think about what he is doing, sometimes he is so frustrating.
The whole team look lazy at times and have a couldn't give a **** attitude.

Mate, Id be very woirred if I was McCall. The centre of the park was terrible and Lee is not fit to clean Wetheralls boots.

ha and he's not even making all these fcking assists he can supposedly make. the lad needs to be given a wake up call i.e. get dropped. as do a few others, cna you honestly say a couplke of changes would make us any worse??

On 3 occasions Colbeck should have produced a far better ball
Twice for Conlon and that was going to say Cross but it was more of a hoof into knowhere land tdwn:tdwn:
We made an average Darlington look something they are not

Thought Evans was very unlucky to be on the end of 2 goals. Looks a very good keeper.
Defence looked poorer than it was because the midfield was so pish, having said that both Lee and Clarke gave Darlo too much. But had the midfield been more solid they would not have had to cover so much ground. Colbeck put the effort in and looked the best threat of the midfield 4. Furman had the odd flash of something decent but not nearly enough, and as for McLaren and Nix... were they even playing???
Can't really fault Baz and Thorne tonight.

Central midfield is a big problem, Furman ball watching for darlos 2nd and him and maclaren dont seem to work together. Theres no support for the front men and we create nothing but the odd cross from our quick wingers, things need to happen in the centre of the park.

We've all been saying this for weeks, if we can see it why can't Macca & Jakes?
