NEWS JUST IN!:-

Harry redknapp is the new tottenham manager after the sensational sacking of Juande Ramos, Damien Comolli, Gus poyet and another first team coach!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/7691457.stm

Incredible news, and in response to spurs' worst start to a season ever... even worse than derby last year.

Portsmouth paid £5M in compensation for harry, who says its his 'last best chance to manage a big club before he retires.' incredible!

Facking hell didn't see that one coming?!

I though Arry was happy at Portsmouth and wanted to guide them to big things!?

I suppose it's his last chance at a big(?) club!

If he is given time he will do very well there but what's betting he is out within 2 years tdwn:tdwn:That's the problem with that club nobody is given time to do anything tdwn:tdwn:

Can anyone blame him?

He's took Pompey as far as he can IMO and when a club higher up the foodchain come knocking you cant blame him for going, especially at his age!

Good luck Arry ;)

Couldn't believe my ears this morning when i heard. Feel a bit sorry for Ramos but he seemed out of his depth and let Comolli thrust players on him he didn't want.

Yes you cannot blame him but come 24 months when there not doing better than Arsenal then they will turn on him tdwn:tdwn:It's about time the Spurs fans realised what kind of club they are and not what they think they are.
Harry needs to be in the job for a long time to turn them into a decent outfit not the usual 2 years or so tdwn:tdwn:

Ramos his a good manager but he's only got himself to blame IMO by being stubborn and not learning the lingo!

The system where someone buys players and then the manager picks the best available to him seems to work on the Continent but is always doomed to failure over here for some reason?

Thats sadly the way of the football World nowadays....If City fans can turn on McCall when were 4th then owt can happen.

Spurs should have never sacked Jol, one win away from the Champions league and now winless! :)

I was shocked when I heard the news this morning. I thought Ramos was definately on his way but was suprised by the appointment of Redknapp and how quick it was all done (he's picking the team for todays game against Bolton).

I bet a fair few Pompey fans are pissed off but that's football nowadays!

Despite the wink, you are not too wrong KK. Over the years he's surrounded himself with his press pals and acolytes in the London media a la Venables who trumpet his value at every opportunity.

He's a decent manager whos proved himself over the years and i don't mind him but he's not the mega bloke the press make him out to be.
Ask Pompey fans now he's walked for a second time!!

I for one don't agree with what he as done but when he took them over they where team heading down now he leaves them as a top 10 club playing in Europe a cup in the cabinet with £5million thrown in tup:tup:they haven't done that bad out of it tup:tup:tup:

No doubt in 2 years when Spurs are not finishing in the top 4 they will want him out tdwn:tdwn:tdwn:

He done very well to get a new job while still on bail.
Not many people could walk into a new job while being investigated on suspicion of fraud and deception.

No, he was never charged, investigations are continuing. All suspects remain on bail. David Gold was moaning about it just the other week.

Redknapp was given freedom of the city (Pompey) today in honour of the FA Cup win, he got a lovely reaction...
