Tis a shame, he's one of footballs good guys, seems a thoroughly decent bloke. No doubt he'll be back in a job soon enough...maybe replacing Macca if ReDboOk gets his way...tup:

Im surprised he lasted there so long tbh as Watford's form this season as been attrocious!

Shame really cos like everyone's said he's a nice bloke, from Bradford and supports City tup:

Hope he gets a decent job elsewhere.

What a 'funny old game' ;) he was seen as one of English footballs rising stars and now he's out of work. He's a good guy and i'm sure he'll get another job pretty quick

Yep...similar to Peter Taylor whan he was doing well and I remember Bryan Robson getting touted as future England/ Man Utd manager when he started well with Boro. Doesn't take long to be a bad manager from an apparently good one. I suspect Jewell will be sacked soon from Derby and they'll probably employ Boothroyd! :D

I know it won't happen but... we could do with adding him to our management team and let Jakes concentrate on prayer and repentance.

He was on a hiding to nothing - he's had to sell all his star players and he wasn't allowed to spend the proceeds, he's left Watford in a much better financial position than they were - they're still in the **** tho.....
I don't think its a reflection of his abilities at all - more a reflection of the state of the finances at the club and the arrogance that they think they should still be challenging for promotion to the premier league on a League 1 budget!!...

My dad is good mates with Aidy Boothroyd's dad.

It's ridiculous. He hasn't become a bad manager overnight. He's proved his capabilities, and it's not his fault if the tools to do the job are taken away.
