Did you have to become a member of Blackburn to get tickets ? I had to for Man City recently.

I must admit i find it a bit disturbing how some City "fans" on here get their kicks putting even more money into the coffers of the rich. tdwn:
I've only watched 2 matches that didn't involve City, Oldham Vs Sheff Wednesday (free tickets courtesy of Sean McCarthy) and L**ds Vs Some Israeli side in the UEFA Cup(Again free ticket from a scum fan mate).
I didn't enjoy either game as i couldn't give a fcuk who won and it just wasn't the same as watching City play with the emotional baggage it carries! :)

I think the point is that you can be a football fan, as well as a City fan.
I agree that it doesn't have the intensity of watching City, but it is a different experience. Don't think it makes me any less of a "fan" for taking in the odd other game which doesn't clash with a City match.

Never said It did, but wouldn't it have been better to go down to MK and contribute to the gate money City get a share of rather than putting yet more money into the Prem Clubs pockets? :(

Its not charity, you pay your money to watch the game not because the cash will go to city,
This is what bugged me with Mark Lawn's Stuart's fund or whatever it was, i dont think this is how a club should be run
I personally enjoy watching football without the emotional attachment that you inevitably have when watching Bradford;), and watching the standard of football that cannot be seen at VP

Why bother being a City fan then?
If its diversity and a better quality of football your after, wouldn't it be better to support a Prem club?

Because i have an association to the club and is part of my identity, i support my local club from West Yorkshire, it is part of your make up, and IMO part of being a football support...
Supporting and following Bradford City is one of my hobbies, as is watching and following English football, i treat them as two different hobbies....
I dont agree with your implication that you go to a particular football match depending on who you want to receive your ticket/gate money...

Thats why were called "supporters" ie...we support the club financially as well as everything else.
Without the fans financial input there wouldn't be a BCFC would they?
Yet some "fans" on here wanting a football fix would rather give their hard earned money to someone elses team who need it far less than OUR Club.
Thats what I find strange.

.
Sorry, I thought the "fans" comment contained an implication that people who chose to see other games could be viewed differently.
With hindsight, yes it would have been better. But the thought of a 10 hr return train trip along with a £60 fare to see us get battered was enough of a deterrent. Should have had more faith :)

just got back from blackburn , public transport there is shite we had to get a bus from blackburn station back to leeds because they didnt put a york train on till 2 hours later
the reason why i went to watch blackburn is because i have fook all to do on a sunday and it was good enjoyable football a entertainment like going to the cinema rather than watching it because it was my club
when i watch city it makes or break my weekend and i am emotinaly attached to it all time i must say at blackburn i didnt feel anything for them didnt know any chants apart from "CHELSEA RENT boy wooooooo wooooo" i bought myself a scarf tho and tried getting into it but it didn't feel the same it was a alright day out except from the rain that made it annoying , the reason why i didnt go to mk dons was because it would of ment waking up at 6 in the morning .
ps. they had there own charlie dont know the guy name but he went mental sat at front behind the net (blackburn end)

PMSFL....ask teacher to look up Ironic on Monday mate :)
I tell you what though, when i was a nipper i'd beg, steal and borrow to follow City anywhere and wouldn't dream of going to watch another team INSTEAD of City.
Remember you said the only reason you didn't go to watch City was because you would have to get up at 6am....great excuse mate jump:
You going to Wycombe next week?.....better look who's playing in the Prem Sunday first eh Jonny?

Ah shame, we were back in Bradford for 5! jump:
We were sat in the Riverside stand (the one to your left that the Sky camera's faced) a couple of blocks away from the Chelsea fans! Row 14 so was as dry as a bone! tup:
I enjoyed it to be honest, I joined in with the Blackburn chants, had ago at the ref etc. without really feeling the anxiety you get with watching City as I didn't care who won!
