Jante old pal, I'm disappointed in you.

How do you know that Windass's "big gob" was the cause of the fracas?
By the sounds of it, King seems to be the 'see you hen tea'

Has anyone actually read that report?

It appears it was Marlon King who was the one causing the trouble, headbutting a team mate, pretending his watch had been stolen and swearing at staff on his way out.

Can't see much Windass did wrong ffs?

Yes, I read it.

The young kids at city probably did nothing to warrant being bullied and i'm sure that a certain young on-loan midfielder who was grabbing the headlines did nothing to warrant deano injuring him either.

What goes around - comes around.

For all we know, Deano has probably tried to disrupt things at Hull because 1) he cannot get in the team 2) he's not center of attention. Deano has probably been provoking a reaction from someone for weeks and someone finally snapped and gave him a dose of his own medicine.

Wouldn't have anything todo with Deano wanting a move would it?

It appaears to me that Deano had said something about Marlon's kid??

A witness said: “Windass appeared to say something to King that had him raging like a bull. King was shouting, ‘You b*****d. Wait until I tell my boy what you said’.

I do love how you guys have an insite to Deano and the person he is. A convicted Bully now.

It kind of is the exact opposite to why Phil Brown doesnt want to let him leave Hull though. Brown has said all along that he is great with the young players and exactly the sort of player he wants around - hardly sounds like he is running a protection racket does it??

Who are these Bullied players you are talking about anyway?

Name names or have they been put on a police protection programme with names changed so the 'Evil Windass' cant track them down??

I have no proof over what happened when he was at City.

Just as you have no proof he didn't.

Can you please tell me why such a model professional such as Dean Windass would go hurtling in at Lee Holmes in training when he was the one grabbing the headlines? Everyone was raving about Lee Holmes when on loan here - He was center of attention and not your god.

I won't knock Deano for his goal contributions - during certain seasons without his goals we'd of gone down based on the strikers that Todd brought in - For that i'm thankful for what he did.

But the other stuff, like always being suspended at christmas and other stuff - I fail to see why he's held in such high regard by yourself - other than his goals - he couldn't give a flying f*** about City or it's fans.

clap: clap: This is the problem i had with Deano. I might be wrong but the perception was always that he must be the centre of attention and he didn't like it if he wasn't.

Bumped into him and his drinking pals around Undercliffe a couple of times and he was the same there courting attention.

He always said Hull was his club and thats great loyalty but i don't think he cares for City more than any other run of the mill player we've had. As Ed says, we would have gone down very easily without his goal input but i can never accept him as a City legend.

Thats just it though Jantje - has he got that type of rep?

Deano is the type of player you love to hate. He's passionate on a pitch and gives his all for the team he's in - exactly the type you'd love to have 11 of.

Off the pitch he's had very little scandal considering a near 20 year career, and being very high profile for a lower league player. The odd managerial bust up, but thats par for course.

Like all players, theres people who hate him (most post on here), but on the other hand if all was to believed from the shite thats said about him - why would a whole host of reasonably big clubs be scrambling to get him at 39 year old?

And Paul Jewell, is he such a bad judge of charactor, bad manager to try attract a cheating, bullying , dirty and disruptive player into his squad so many times?

I doubt it!!

I've never met the guy but I know two who have.. outside the football arena.. and they both say he is a loud-mouth arrogant buffoon... they have no reason to lie.
So, this; and other much publicised events in recent times, make me suspiciuous. Whilst I have the utmost respect for his football talent, it's not hard to imagine that he instigated the event.. only,.. IF he did, he picked on the wrong guy this time.

I think Jamie Lawrence was a great player for City. But he fits your discription and much much worse in his personal life than Deano. Yet most regard him as a legend!!

No I can't, but one things for sure, It'd need more than tittle tattle from Betty Eagleton and her ilk to convince me that every "RUMOUR" was true.

There's no doubt that Windass can be a nob like he was with that horrific two footed challenge on the Bournemouth player ....I've even seen at first hand his drunken rowdiness some years ago, but some of you lot would believe he was a mass murderer if you were told so by Billy Liar.

Like i said Beer, either through his own actions.......or not! He seems to have a rep. Look how much posting goes on when Deano is the subject.

Like i say, i've bumped into him and wasn't keen on him as a person. Thats only my opinion.

He was the 'star goalscorer' at City so why would all these rumours surface if there wasn't a grain of truth in there. I'm just playing advocate here , why would fans make up rumours that would potentially drive out their star player? The Lee Holmes one was in the T&A anyway written by his mate Simon Parker

You tell me? In our darkest recent days its always our best players 'the fans' turn on, for whatever non-footballing reason Summerbee & Windass being the main two.

But half of its laughable though Jantje. People of reasonable intelligence actually believe that Deano plans to get sent-off, to have a xmas break- every year!

Summerbee had a history at other clubs of being 'difficult' and unpopular with fans even though he did the business on the pitch.

With Deano, why would fans slag off their 'best' player? Why would rumours start about him. I don't remember rumours about anyone else? People saw him out and about and saw what he was like. Snippets leak out from the club etc. I don't know but he certainly divides opinions when other stars seem to have everyones support

Yep, your right, Wetherall was never slagged off because of
a) his 'loyalty' to the club;)whatever the ins & outs of wage & contract deferrals
b) nobody ever saw him around Bradford boozing.
c) no rumours ever emerged from anywhere dissing him.

At the first sign of criticism from a fan, Summerbee turned and had a go. I was about 15 yards away and actually agreed with Summerbee!!! This was bad publicity turning on a fan though.

Daley will always have his critics but that is due to his natural 'laid back demeanour but he's worked hard to silence his critics this year.
