.
As Saturday beckons and the visit to the Don Valley Stadium. Bradford will want to get back to winning ways, City all in all area good team and we will be in the play- offs in may or further up the table. We just need to learn to have more consistency and close teams down. We have shown we can defend and we are emence-attacking wise. We just need to do it more often.
This will come, as we have not yet hit top form despite some brilliant performances, We have not had a bad bad performance this season and have just had a bit of bad luck. All in all things are on an upward motion on and off the pitch.
A draw will be a good result on Saturday although we should win this one. So lets go with our heads up and encourage the players to victory

Not if we should beat them which according to you is the case
I think as they are good at home, play in such an awkward stadium for football and have acquired 26 points they are no push over. I agree a draw is good result...
But you've said we should beat them and now your saying a point would be a bonus

We have been crap since August so saying no bad performances is a bit wide of the mark.

What you have got to remember though Brad Is that were a 4th division team with inconsistent 4th division footballers who find it hard to play at the same level for 90 mins, let alone over a few games!
Im sure other fans of teams in this division will say exactly the same about their team, were not Man Utd, Liverpool or Chelsea who knock the ball about the pitch for 90 mins, every game!
Thats the level were at, its good enough for us to do well in this division and were as equipped as most at getting promotion this season!

I see both your arguments here, but tbh i agree with Bantam87. We dont want total football ala Liverpool;), 90 minutes of a decent level of effort from the whole team would be nice. Too often we see 4 or 5 players turn up and the rest canter about.
Take Omar out of our side and we are devoid of idea's - it shouldnt be like that, we have enough quality to be dominating more games!!

I doubt they aren't any teams in this division who will dominate most their games for most the match.
All thats needed to get out of this league is a organised defence and a few strikers who can score goals....look at Hereford last season.
Were 6th in the table and a few points from the top despite most our fans saying we've been **** this season....if we'd had played as well as they expect we'd probably be 20 points clear by now and up with the fairy lights...

it would be nice though to have a comfortable win, we just arent capable of doing that, most of the teams at the top of the league will win 3-0, 4-0 some weeks, cant remember the last time we have a really good win where you felt we dominated the game. If we take the lead against poor sides (Barnet being a great example) who cant defend we sit back and let them come at us, we would have easily beaten Barnet if we had attacked them as other sides have shown who have put 3 or 4 past them without reply.
I know we arent going to play like Chelsea every week, but we have been told that these players are good enough to play in the league above and Im not seeing any consistancy at all, even really poor sides can have a good 90 mins!!!

Wycombe win 1-0 everyweek....Shrewsbury have had a couple big scores but struggle away from home, Darlington usually win by the odd goal.....I dont see any team flattening teams every other week.
Were as good and as bad as most teams in this division.

Wycombe base their results on a good defence tho, can u really see clarke and lee conceeding 6 goals in 15 games ?? swap the figures round and u might be closer to it!!
We need to attack teams and start winning comfortably if we are to get up this year and most importantly do well next year in L1, if you havent noticed teams that go up without scoring goals tend not to do well the year after, and then teams that do (MK Dons, Peterborugh) will more than likely do ok. If we are to go up this year we need to prepare for next year aswell as Mr Lawn has already stated there wont be any money readily available for the playing staff.
It doesnt help that the manager for me isnt up to it but we should with the players we ave got be doing much better than we are.
Plus if you look at most leagues then the teams at the top will more often than not win comfortably and like I said b4 its something we are incabable of doing

I bet if you asked Peterborough fans same time last year what they thought they'd be saying similar to what are fans are saying now...they went on an extraordinary run from Christmas time onwards that clinched them automatic promotion and they looked very ordinary when we beat them at VP.
Why do you think any other manager would get better out of our players or better results than McCall?
You only have to look on here to see the different teams people would play every week, doesn't mean they would do any better than what McCall picks.
We've already shown we can win 3 games on the trot this season and a similar run now would see us maybe top, i wonder how many would be moaning about our season or Maccas tactics then?
Probably the same amount who were moaning when we were top no doubt!

Just more examples of people's frustration in that because we have signed a couple of players from L1, we should now be winning games by 4 or 5 to nil and it's all Macca's fault for not getting these results.

Yes I do think a different manager would get more out of them, a semi decent experience manager would get better results with this squad.
These three games on the spin?? Remind when they were as from my memory they were always spilt with a dismal cup showings.

I can't see people expecting to thrash every team and blaming Macca (apart from bantam87!) All people are saying is that the team hasn't played well for a full 90 minutes! Teams may be inconsistant from game to game in this league, but we're inconsistant from half to half! tdwn:

Parrot you have just listed managers who either didnt have much experience of winnings nor at the level we were at or had the ability to keep the players they wanted.
I said McCall was no good last September so this dummiy of the pram is wrong as I have said he wont make a good manager then and I feel more and more people swinging my way. Even when we won 5 out of 6 at the beginning none of them were convincing and we didnt half ride out luck a lot
Time will tell after all and hopefully it will all work out - just cant see it happening tho.

I listed the last "Experienced" managers we've had with varying degrees of success before they came here and they all failed.
Im not aware what you said last September or whatever and my post wasn't personally aimed at you mate.
As for Macca then he will be judged at the end of the season and rightly so IMO.
If we gain promotion either by automatic place or sneak through the play-offs then he will have succeeded....whether thats by playing great, flowing, attacking football or by nicking games by the odd goal doesn't really matter, does it?
If we don't win promotion then the likes of yoursen and REdBoOk can come on here and tell us how fcuking right you were etc....
Im sure 99.9% of City fans wanted McCall to come home and manage us, nothing was guaranteed that he would be a success, he was a gamble like all other rookie managers are a gamble.
Lets hope the gamble pays off eh?
