Following on from Parrots poll!!
Not born with Ginger blinkers like so many around here i'm curious to know the opinions?

Assuming McCall was successful in gaining promotion as champions this year, and if say at this time next season we are sat in 4th position in L1 and either Sheffield Utd, Everton or Rangers came fishing for him as manager do you think McCall would even consider staying at City?

Not Sure, Think its a safe bet everton wont come knocking,

McCoist is likely to be Rangers next man in charge in 3 seasons at the latest, maybe stuart in as number 2 though depends totally what he has done with city in the mean time.
Heaven forbid it doesnt happen, but if city dont go up in the next 2 seasons then he may not even be wanted here.

Yes he'd stay as long as he gets the support from the Boardroom and the opportunity to invest in order to secure a promotion.

After that maybe he'd be tempted to move on, but deep down I believe he has a vision to take us places again, just as he did when he returned as a player. It's in his blood.

I'd expect him to go but cant see any of those jobs being offered to him and i think he would have to take a job before and take a step up.

Potentially IF we go up to League one and IF we to hover around top half/play off places and Sheff United were still knocking around in the Championship and were managerless they could come in for him

BUT if Sheff Utd came in it would mean admitting they made a mistake when they didnt sign him first so i would doubt that they wouldnt just get A.N Other

I agree with PL that he wont be going to Rangers, that will go to McCoist and i cant see him wanting to go back to being a number 2.

I doubt Everton, if they are still around top 8 will come in for a league 1 manager and would have better options, but then Blackburn did so it is definatley possible

Its the same as having young players, if you have a young manager at a small club then bigger fish will come in for him. Hopefully hes got a £5,000,000 buy out clause like Redknapp

He'd be mad not to go and hopefully we'd get an experienced manager in then like Colin Turd.

Hopefully he'll get his wish to lead us back up the divisions - it's a 10 year plan tha knows and we are in year 2 - even then he'll only be early 50's so he is in no rush unless a big job comes along sooner - he has real empathy and loyalty to the Bradford supporters as much as the club itself.

He's doing a job which puts food on his family's table. Of course he'll consider it if an offer comes in, and it will depend on the terms of any offer. Just as we would eventually sack him if the results were dire, I wouldn't blame him in the slightest if he took the chance to move up.

He left before as a player when Everton came knocking. I very much doubt that either Everton or Rangers would be interested in him as manager at this point, but I don't see any reason why he would make a different decision now than he did when he was playing.

The simple answer is Stu would walk to Glasgow over broken glass to manage them.

As regards managing another club, then if Stu felt he'd taken our club as far as he could or if he failed to get backing from our board then he would walk for a bigger club. I doubt he'd walk however if he'd built a successful team here and we were on the up.

Remember though Stu delayed his decision in joining us, to wait to see if Sheffield Utd were to offer him the managers post.

Imagine you're a very talented footballer and life long City fan, you're playing for City in the bottom league, you're a big fish in a small pond. A premiership side comes knocking (pehaps Spurs or Everton) offering you a lucrative contract, what would you do ?

Exactly ! you'd be a fool not to

There's more than money that forms the bond Stu has to the club and 99% of it's supporters - some of those post '85 may not fully appreciate the circumstances of that - of course he's ambitious and if 'Gers came a knocking then we could not stand in his way, he's greatly respected up there as well - respect from supporters is not earnt easily.
Just thinking back to that open day orgainsed by the fans - the queue for autographs from the man were non stop for hours and he was patient and treated everyone with respect and a smile - you don't see that sort of genuine emotional link very often - he's no superstar nationally or internationally but he does have widespread RESPECT from he majority of footie fans and the media.
