would 'spike' lee not be the best choice the way he can hit the ball??
I certainly wouldnt want to be anywhere near the ball if he hits it full pelt

Good shout, but would we experience the same adrenalin rush we get when Baz steps up? tup:

Your absolutely right Spain, I had to force myself to look when I saw Baz was going to take it. I'm not kidding either. Like you say though, fair play to him, he took it so well and the reason he took it became obvious a moment later.

However, now the 100 goals thing is out of the way, i'm not sure the other lads would so easily let him take another. (Please)

So hows life treating you in the sunny Balearics?

It's probably a very dissapointing 65 degrees around this time of year eh?

Baz is the appointed penalty taker isn't he, assuming he's on the field?

Yes Lee may be able to hit a free-kick but from 12 yards out it's different. Don't fix what isn't already broken! When was the last time we missed a penalty?

Lol, spot ontup:

Never have i seen a regular penalty taker where the entire ground all looks around fearing the miss!!

Its boderline comical, even the hard core Barry fans are expecting the worst - but it makes it all the more enjoyable because he always scores!!tup:tup:

*Beer hopes that isnt the kiss of death when he misses our 91st minute chance to equalise tomorrow*

I could cope with that I reckon. Whats the pence per litre on a gallon of unleaded for you now? Are you also being hit by this "global" credit crunch?

Do you have any job vacancies ?? tup:

Hasn't Baz already missed 2 pens since he's been with us? I remember he missed one on his debut and I'm sure there was another.

Spot on. Fortunately, the first one was stuck away by Guilerm ndzungu - de..

er...

unsongoo - ndzzuun... Dave.

The second one was at Dagenham I think.

If you watch him in the warm up, everything goes in (his) bottom left hand corner. (Keepers right) and that's exactly where Carson threw himself on Teusday night. Fortunately, Bazz has lulled all keepers into this mistake and simply dinks it over him in a complete piss take manner. jump:jump:

His interview on tuesday was funny, on how he takes his penalties, if keepers did their homework they would stay up and dive very late...

As long as Law stays away after his effort v Chester last season

Barry Conlon is surely not reliable enough to take penalties!
He missed two out of five last season - Macclesfield and Dagenham at home.
Is anyone really confident when he steps up to take one?
Luckily the one against Chesterfield went in but please Barry - leave 'em alone!!!!
Bring on Peter Beagrie whenever we get a pen!!!!!!!!

Beags missed probably the biggest one of them all at Wolves in 99.

Fair enough it was a good save but we have been cursing that miss had Simpsons free kick gone in!

Hell, Beags missed one!!
What about all the others that he put away to get us to Molineux in the first place!
He very rarely missed a pen, Beagrie.
He had a great shot & placement.

Didnt he blaze one over against Bristol City in the run in as well that season.

We'd have gone up in the play offs if not;);)

The penalty that Beagrie missed at Bristol City was missed in the 90th minute in a game that City were leading 3 -2 and did eventually win by the same score.

On the whole, Beags was most reliable from the spot, missing only three while at City - Bristol City (A), Wolves (A), Everton (A) in which we missed two penalties that day, Carbone missing the second!

Thought it was Blake, rather than Beagrie that missed the first, which would mean he only missed the original 2

Hi billybantam!
You know, thinking back I think that you may well be right in saying it was Blake!
Can anyone else remember?

I agreed with the sentiment of your original post, I was just pointing out that when he did miss one it just happened to be one that made the old arse twitch for a while tup:
