Blogs are coming shortly.

One good way would be to get rid of "sticky's"

Weekly caption competitions would be good... Bit childish but normally a fun thing to keep a site ticking over..
tony d

Free access to certain more descerning night time sites would be a quality feature...

One thing that I thought was good about the old board is you could change your username at any point yourself, anyone like to see that feature added here? stops people signing up for multiple accounts too I'd reckon.

Thats possible on proboards, Isn't it?
Always seemed like a sensible option to me. can't see why it shouldn't be added.

It would do, that option simply enables you to change your posting name on the same account, so it would stop people signing up again under a new name. in theory..

One IP address, one name, you know it makes sense.
One good way of improving this board would be banning tony d. I don't know what the MOD put in the squaddies tea these days, but whatever it is, it's quite clearly having a bad effect on the lad.

Come on Matt, don't tell me you haven't figured it out from the name, style of writing and middle of the night timing of postings?

I'm off to bed now. So can you tell me what my style of writing is so I can read it in the morning when I get up at 8.15? I'd be most grateful.

I bet the Rangemeister will love that bg. He was always good for a giggle was BR, what I liked about him was he didn't take himself too seriously. I'll certainly pass on your kind words if I see him or come across him on the Gent.

How about a card system for bad posters ...
Green for the first warning of future conduct...
Yellow a 1 week ban and final warning..
Red evicted for good... Applied to their posts for good until they have disappeared into the abyss of lost posts..
These are for more severe posters such as well me at the moment lol..
All have amnesty up to this point lol...
Ed
6th June 2005, 01:53 PM
You know i've been considering that card scheme, I'm not sure if you were joking or not but.
I was going todo it along the lines of the football league.
5 yellow cards - 1 day ban.
1 red card - 3 day ban.
not sure how you'd govern such a feature and what constitutes red and yellow but it's food for thought.
Chatroom - is on it's way - i've got a life off the boards funny as it may seem hehe...

You can't see hidden users anyway, so the figures you see aren't 100%.

Is there anyway we could have a "live" quiz night based on something like
"a question of sport" & have teams ie of 4, you fire the questions & we post
replies etc. & say a "quick fire round" quickest reply to the question gets the point;
Just a thought.

How about a section of the forum that any funny/interesting threads are moved to after they have died a death and been locked?
This will make any classics easier to find in the future

a 'note-pad/book' thingey for jots,
ps one of my jokes made google, don't know if thats good or bad
it seems i've been banned from over 18s by thorney's bouncering/ stewarding- my jokes must be too blue
the political section should be scrapped from a football board, and replaced with an 'extra' section for 'things in the news'

The 'new posts' section is a bit naff tbh!! It says 'sorry there are no new threads....click here...' and then there are new threads....what's that about? And can they stay in the list a bit longer... even if you have read them...maybe for a couple of hours???
Jumbo
9th August 2006, 05:06 PM
And when replying to a pager, sometimes the box closes and you lose everything you have typed!! Also, I would like all the smilies to be available on the shoutbox, along the top maybe and maybe a box with them in when you're doing a new post. Maybe it could be a box they you can minimise if you dont want to use smilies or if you dont need the codes...
Jumbo
9th August 2006, 05:10 PM
While I'm at it....lol...could the options you chose for the text in the shoutbox (colour, font) be saved to your user name and then be changed manually rather than the options being lost everytime you leave the home page???

my goodness you are off on one tonight ! lol

that is so frustrating ! especially when you have typed almost a full box ! Ive noticed its when someone either posts or logs in ! in otherwords the screen underneath seems to refresh itself - if you see what I mean !
