Unless there's a huge marked improvement on the last 4 games we'll be coming back on the plane usually reserved for the Scotland team.....

Maybe it was Sven's ploy to play **** - to take some pressure and expectation off the team - its certainly worked for me.....:eek:

Italy as well as other top teams have done that for years, poor qualifying then great finals performances..

England got to the Semis in 1990 without looking any good. In fact the only game in which they did perform to a level of the standard of World Cup semi finalists was the Semi itself,in which we outplayed the Germans in an enthralling game and lost (though not in open play)
