It's a good deal, but i cant believe they thought they would sell 9000.
Know matter what they offer if Todds still here, then the ticket sale's will be well down no matter what the saving's are.

"We are also delighted to improve the offer to the original 25 Year Scheme Members. The revised scheme would have been due to begin at the start of the 2006/2007 season and details of the improved offer will be sent under separate cover."

Well acording to the prices on the Official site at 50% 25 year ticket holders would of been paying £117 for the season so I presume the offer is better than that one but probably won't be free.

Hopefully Todd will be sacked, I shall wait to see what the deal is, a new investor puts in some money, city are promoted and next season so it's 25% for the season ticket the year after or an I living in a dream world :D

Unless you get a bantams bar ticket "early bird" tho - its gone up £30 for the season...i'm sure it was only £295 for the early bird bantams bar last season aswell - so thats gone up too!! Nevertheless for all my hot air i will be renewing it in the next few weeks!!

Knowing the amount of "never, never" spenders in Bradford i should think the monthly payment scheme will be popular!!

Time for Doctor Chuckle to administer some reality medicine again, it won't taste nice, but it could save you a lot of bellyache later...form an orderly queue.

On the surface, there are one or two good deals, but nowt that'd encourage me to buy one I'm afraid. There's also nowt there that'd make me confident of a significant upturn in sales either. Without any significant change in the clubs circumstances, even if the club is still trading in August, we will struggle to shift 4,500.

The continuation of the Under 11's freebies is worthy of applause.

A couple more minor points;

If the club is about to recieve major investment, why ,

"Next Season, Bradford City Football Club Will need your support, MORE THAN EVER"?

That statement clarifies Brown's "Dying a slow Death" scenario more than Junior's, "Prepared to invest Millions" claims regarding new investment.

I'm not saying Junior or Brown are right or wrong respectivley, but I'd be reading between the lines before considering coughing up knocking on 400 nicka for owt from a club with our track record.

The easy pay scheme is doomed to faliure, because the pre season ST sales are supposed to be a vital source of close season income. Which raises the conundrum, if Rhodes is relying on the new investor to bankroll close season, what happens to all those who pay for a season ticket in full before 29th April and the club goes tits up close season if Mr Investor doesn't matrialise?

It seems to me that a lot of folk are waiting to see what the situation with regards to team management is next season too. Colin Todd will still be manager of this club on 30th April (day after early bird bargain ceases), whatever happens results wise between now and then, so that immideatly scuppers anybody waiting for Todd to get the push before purchasing/renewing their Season Tickets getting them at the early bird price.

League One football is still far from guaranteed, even the early bird prices don't represent good value for bottom tier football.

Kids being allowed in the Bantams Bar is not a good move, accompanied by an adult or not. At the end of the day, the Bantams Bar is a pub enviroment, an escape from the normal fayre the other areas of the ground offer.Turning it into a Wacky Warehouse will alienate Season Ticket holders who have had their tickets in there for a while. I go into the Bantams Bar when I go (or went) the thought of screaming kids in there will not encourage me to buy one in there next season if I decided I wanted to do so. In fact it would guarantee I didn't buy one.

This is just my opinion, but I'd bet my left nut, that Councillor Ward's Community Crusade will be filling a lot of the empty seats in VP with freebie admissions next season, all very well if those "freebies" lead to future paid up match admissions, but we all know he's targeting the wrong section of the community with regards to selling a third (or possibly fourth) tier football club to them as a medium to ensure their paying custom . Which would lead to the question, Why should you buy a season ticket, if half of Manningham regularly get's their football for nowt, in the name of community relations?

No doubt you'll be queuing up to shout me down, fine, but you'll only be shooting the messenger.

I agree re kids in the BB - bad move on the clubs part....if i wanted to go in the family section - i'd chuffing go there!! It should be "grown ups" only, although i'm sure with some of the characters that go in there and the language spouted around, Mr middleclass from Baildon won't take his kid in there very often....

The Todd point is THE critical factor - unless he's removed before the early bird offer ends - then our ST sales will be worse than last season....

On the upside though - if this new investor joins, then hopefully he'll have the balls to realise what an excellent marketing ploy sacking Todd and giving a young upcoming manager a few funds to spend on team strenghthening could be for ST sales....half the playing squads contracts are up this summer - its an excellent opportunity for someone new to assemble a fresh squad of players!!

baldbantam
15th March 2006, 09:35 AM
Rhodes gets a lot of criticism, but let's at least give him credit when he makes a positive move. Realistically, how much better a price deal could he have offered than what he has put forward?

I acknowledge Chuckle's points, and I'm not overthrilled at the prospect of screaming kids in the Bantams Bar myself, but I would have thought this was as good an announcement as could reasonably be expected.

I shall be interested to see what the proposal is for the 25 year season ticket holders, because I know a fair number of them who have no intention of going down if they have to pay this time round.

Everyone seems to want everything for nothing and then complains about the state of the club and the team. Its the fans generating the income for the club that make them do well. You should all be saying lets pay more this year and all introduce a new member to help raise even more money. Surely its money that makes your club better. If you all want to get in for nowt or wont buy season tickets then dont complain if the club does go tits up. You cant expect a new shareholder to pay for everything. This is a team which needs supporters. I know they are frustrating to watch week in week out but more fans=more money=better players=better football. Come on stop whinging and get your hand in your pockets and be optimistic about next season. (No wonder its all doom and gloom) Cheer up were staying up and this time in 12 months well be on our way to Championship!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How about you and me going 50/50 on what i've lost and then we can all 'move on' as you put it.

And by the way, i have paid every penny the club has asked of me over the last few troubled years and will continue to give my support regardless. I think that means I'm 'contributing'.

That might apply to some, but certainly not to all.

I bought my 25 year ticket at the time primarily to show allegiance to the club. Any money saving was a distant second in my reasoning.

When the Club was running it's fund raising campaign, after it had become obvious that we weren't going to get them paid out in full, I still went down and put £500 in to the kitty.

I paid my extra £150 for my season ticket when it was asked for, and I'll pay my £100 next season, and if they decide to just cancel the entire thing I'll still be buying season tickets on a year by year basis.

I am fortunate to be in a position where the money is not a massive issue. But that doesn't mean that I liked to be ripped off.

I have 'moved forward', but don't expect me to be happy about the betrayal of trust that the club carried out. And I can entirely understand and sympathise with those who do feel sufficiently aggrieved to not want to spend further cash.

Many of those tickets were sold to people who struggled to buy them and have lost money they could not afford to lose - a hell of a lot of them were sold on the installment system or people took out other loans to fund them. It is by no means a case that everybody who took out a 25 year ticket was affluent.

I wonder if the allowing of kids is actually an oversight by the Club when issuing prices, or if it just applies to those kids who are currently allowed to go in accompanying the disabled supporters?

Far as I know it's a licensing law thing that keeps under 14s out rather than club policy, and they haven't actually stated that they are throwing the doors open to all under 14s.

All 25 Yearers are going to want something extra for their 100 nicka. They'll be shifting to the BB just for the sake of feeling they're getting somat for nowt. The BB is going to be full next season KB like it or lump it. Get used to long waits at the bar and the top table being taken when you get there. And as for the Hendrie Suite, why name an area of the ground after a former Leeds Player??

I think Kids under 14 are allowed on liscensed premises up until 19.30 hrs.

It's gonna be fun in there next season. 25 Yearers demanding their drinks be brought straight to their tables and lots of sprogs doing the Peter Kay slidy on their knees thing across the dancefloor.

Why have a picture of a former Leeds Advisor in your signiture?

Hendrie was superb for this club and if he wasn't sent off for a complete over reaction by a Man City goalkeeper City would of been rubbing shoulders with the big boys back in the late 80's.

Ahhhhhh but That "former Leeds advisor" in my signiture(sic) would be perfectly entitled to have the whole ground named after him AND he didn't get one landed on him by Mick Kennedy for gloating that HE'D be playing in the top flight next season, in the dressing room after our play off defeat to Middlesborough back in 88.

Whilst I would accept that existing 25 year ticket holders will generally try to get the best value, I can't see why there would be a particular increase next season. Since the 25 year deal came out you have always been able to exercise it in the Bantams Bar if you want, not just next season.

If anything there will be less 25 year season ticket holders in there next year, because some who have been there this season will not pay the £100 next season.

Also, having now read the letter that goes out to 25 year holders, you can take the Patrons or Chairmans suite for no extra cost. That's a better option than the Bantams Bar and a lot of the 25 year ticket holders will end up there - it's certainly a strong possibility for me.

They aren't boxes, and you can't see the game from them.

They are inside the Sunwin Stand without a view of the ground - they look out over the car park.

Essentially, the main difference from the Bantams Bar is that there are less people in there so it's easier to get served, and, at least in my opinion, the view is the best one in the ground.

Main differences:

Chairmans suite will be family area - there will be more kids. Maximum 250 people.

Hendrie suite does not have dress code - this is the nearest one to the current Bantams Bar but a bit more upmarket. Maximum 400 people.

Patrons suite - dress code is smart casual. Maximum 300 people.

All first come first served. I'm going down tomorrow to book in the Patrons.

Kids in the Bantams Bar, nightmare! I enjoy going with Loyalish junior immensely, but like CB says, it's the one place you can enjoy the game in a pub, adult orientated atmosphere, get bladdered, F and blind and generally embarass yourself without having to worry about kids and parents.

Like I said, I enjoy going with junior, but now there's no excuse for not taking him every week so telling him he can't go is bound to end in tears, gutted! :(

With kids being allowed does this mean they are going to serve chips in the Bantams Bar now? Or will there be a mass exodus of Mums and Dads making their way to the kiosks at the bottom of the Kop 10-15 minutes before halftime?

Its "the little vampire" who goes in the bantams bar Wisey - i'll point him out to you sometime, he's one of the more normal BB characters too  - there's been talk of a lizard who resides there, although i hear he's found a new rock to sunbathe on next season now.....;) :D

Its gonna be like the coneheads in the fookin patrons bar next season - 1st Normancorner, now Baldy.....whatever anyone does don't look up to the 2nd tier of the Sunwin - at least not without your shades....

Used to be, but as far as I recall from his previous postings on the OMB he doesn't actually attend matches anymore.

I was going to re-new tomorrow but I don't know what to do for the best. The Patrons is tempting but it's like a morgue within a morgue, and my previous experiences in there have all been bad. People wearing their 'sunday best' and jangling their jewelry and looking down their noses at you if you get out of your seat to pass comment at events on the pitch isn't my idea of footy heaven. Then again KB saying the Bantams Bar is liable to be 'packed' with 'upgraders' and kids fills me with dread as well.

Are there any tickets for the T L Dallas Stand available?

The Chairmans suite and John Hendrie suite sounded the best to me Loyalish - the John Hendrie suite is the opposite side to the banqueting lounge - has no dress code, no kids, has a bookies, serve pies and more importantly has a fook off bar which if staffed properly should ensure swift service!! Only trouble with the Chairmans suite is the allowance of kids and the fact its next to the Patrons bar - they don't allow smoking either - not that it would bother me anymore!!

I cant make my mind up which stand to go in, Got my pack from the club today (son got his yesterday :D)

He wants to buy his ticket with his pocket money with it being less than a fiver a month for him.

I think i'm gonna end up getting one through the business for one of the "proper" (for expenses and tax purposes) hospitality areas - patrons, hendrie, chairmans etc - but then swap the ticket every other home game to slum it in the BB :D - that way i get the best of both worlds and both decent stands throughout the season!! Thats me plan anyway - it depends how much they charge to swap half of my ST stubs for the BB....

Aaaaw KB - your surely not thinking of leaving us now are you ?? Surely the BB can be classed as entertaining clients !!! You could entertain me if you like !

I'd be sat with you every other home game.....:)
I just fancy a change of scenery thats all, i might be wrong but if the BB's allowing kids its gonna go downhill IMO next season - if its **** tomorrow i won't be returning to the JH, its worth a go though eh? You only live once and all that....;)

Yeah I see what your saying but I feel - mayb wrong tho - that one visit by dad n jnr to the bar will be enough !! due to the erm clientelle !
