It is also not out of the question that some contracted players be told that they are free to look elsewhere, in other words, you are not in my plans, Foxtrot Oscar.

My lists are admittedly only based on seeing a handful of games all season and listening to radio commentary.

Doesn't the fact that not one of 16 players have yet been offered a contract set the alarm bells ringing and go somewhere to confirm the predictions of how much **** financially the club is/was in prior to PE's investment??

Not really as we have only just confirmed our League status so dishing out contracts to players and getting relegated would have been the old way of doing business around VP..

The date has been set as May the 8th no hidden agenda ... This ensures the players having to perform... We all agree that a few of those out of contract can happily do one..

The way the club has gone about this is fine with me ... In no way does this sound a bad way of dealing with out of contract players financially...

Keeps..

Bentham, Sam Denton, Emanuel, Tom Kearney, Morrison, Penford, Stewart, Swift, Michael Symes, Jake Wright.

How comes Morrison?? Granted he's got talent if he applies himself but do you think he's worth the risk??

I think one big factor in Forrest's favour is that he is a home grown player and the one that really drew everyone's attention. He is the one player most (not all) fans want to be given a proper chance and succeed. What better to cheer up the fans than for our Danny to come on and score.

As for Sanasy we have been crying out for a striker who has the natural eye for goal. Sanasy has proved this at every level he has played at (not counting our 1st team as he's never had a chance).

Why throw these two players on the scrap-heap when we have struggled so much this season up front. I'd rather have these two in the first team than Claridge or Cadders. They are on massively lower wages as well. Give them till Christmas at least and then decide on their fate. We'll only bring in 3 new strikers on higher wages who will be just as crap.

If Sanasy get's a chance and has a run of goals like he did at Farsley (it is possible) then he could be a real hero. Forrest would be a good player to have as backup as he can play in 3 different positions.

I think in Todds mind Colbeck & Brown have overtaken Forrest & Sanasy in his thinking

Definately - and TBH, taking off the rosie tints Colbeck and Brown are both better (at least at the same stage in their careers) - which means unfortunately no future at City for either Sanasy or Forrest IMO, sad really especially for Sanasy who i liked watching - nasty little fekker who had no respect for the opposition - wish more were like him!!

Thats right KB, Sanasy had an edge to his game and was scared of no Fecker no matter how big they were

Why not keep all four? If two of em break into first team, and for me you can ditch Petta and bring Colbeck in and start playing Brown with Deano, then the other two are good competition. Plus it brings the wages bill down. It might not be perfect to start with but this might be the way we go, let them learn their trade on the pitch instead of in the reserves and hopefully they will make a quick impact. Ditch the older fringe players who are swallowing up most of the wages budget (Petta and Claridge being the obvious two).

In an ideal world i wouldn't disagree with that - but you know aswell as i do that Todd won't keep all of em....:(

Yeah, but he's a tosspot. I personally would keep all four. Realistically, Forrest will ask Halifax if he can stay, especially if they win the play-offs, and Sanasy will be picked up by a League 2 side. Colbeck and Brown will continue to flirt with the first team cos Todd believes in the "experienced lads"! And the season will unfold the same way as it did this year!

I think we're on pretty safe ground to say that Crooks, Cooke, Sanasy & Claridge won't be here next year. Then theres people like Kearney, Morrison & Holloway who are maybe 50/50 and then the younger ones like Bentham, Penford, Swift who have been given a chance and possibly impressed to a degree that they should be given an extra year to see how they develop
