Yeah but it should be impromptu from the crowd not through a tannoy, then again the Scousers do the tannoy bit first now anyway. We will never match the Kop swaying and belting it out but I too will be shedding a tear or two when I hear it.

Adopted by us for a reason, though kb. Perhap[s your loyalties and pride could be ignored for the sake of remembering those who suffered?

Its nowt to do with the fire though Mark - its to do with folk wanting to copy what Barnsley did last week - its on the Q&A section of the official messageboard!! Don't get me wrong i'll respect if fully, but it would be nice if we could have something original of our own - copying sommat Liverpool and C*ltic does don't float my boat i'm afraid!!

Fair point which is why I think it better if it is an impromptu gesture by the crowd, we shouldn't have to be "led" into something that everyone of us should have immense respect for. Even the kiddie-winkies on the OMB must know what the last home game of the season is really about - remembering those who died and suffered in and as a result of the fire.
I still get emotional hearing it, probably cos I don't associate it with Celtic, but more with May 11th 1985 and 15th April 1989.
And anyway, us do something original? Are you having one of these?

I thought they brought YNWA out again for the Fire appeal? I thought it always had a special role in remembering the fire vitcims?
I don't think it's solely to do with hearing it last week and copying it this week, although hearing it again last week might have prompted people into asking whether it was gonna be played this week because of the fire rememberance.
I can't really understand the deal with hating the song because you identify it with a certain club, it's just a song at the end of the day that isn't designated to any set of supporters. Seems a bit petty that you won't join in with the song, even though it's sole purpose on Saturday will be to remember the fire victims and it will be in no way connected with Celtic. A few of the Forest fans are gonna boo it, according to the Rivals network, just cos of it's association with Liverpool! That's totally forgetting why the song's being played IMO and disrespects totally the people who died that day.
But hey, if you don't wanna join in, it's your choice.

lee, don't think he means it that way, think he means that cos it was heard last week some fans have pushed for it to be played. Not sure if that was as part of the remembrance or what. KB knows the link with the fire and will show the respect in his own way, I assure you.
Let the Forest fans boo. Just hope we as City fans are dignified enough not to react - remember in your own time, ignore the booing and let them embarass themselves. REAL football fans know what it is about and would show the utmost respect. I bet those who boo, weren't actually at Hillsborough, otherwise they would hold their f***ing tongues.

Fair enough SFB but I can't help thinking that KB will just be sat there thinking 'God I hate this song' rather than remembering why it's being played on Saturday. By all means go back to hating it after the VP rendition through associating it with Celtic, but for that 2 minutes before kick off surely for once it can't be enjoyed and coveted for what it is: a song to remember the victims?
No disrespect intended KB, I'm sure you're a lovely bloke.

He'll answer for himself as well I don't doubt, but trust me I am 100% certain he won't be sat there thinking "God, I hate this song". He perhaps won't join in with the chorus but kb is well aware of what it means. I don't need to stick up for him here anyway - he will show utmost respect whether he dislikes the song because of Celtic links or not.
Kb I am sure knows as you and I do (I think) that times like this are for uniting football fans and remembering those who have passed on. Anyway I'll let him answer in due course.

Basically, whatever anybody thinks of the song, lets show the world that for a few minutes we can show our dignity and respect for the 56, RIP

I understand what everyone thinks and SFB's right in that i certainly won't do owt other than stand there, i'll probably be moved like everyone else - i'll remember the 56 in my minutes silence though and in my annual attendance at the fire memorial next week - not with the singing of a song which is held as an identity by other clubs......it almost brought a tear to my eye watching the Liverpool fans sing it in the premier league - its their's and C*ltics song in my eyes - not ours - but thats just my own opinion like....
