I'd rather see City do well next season, because lets face it Chelsea will be champions anyway.
What about a thread about who are you going to go see more next season? City or Man U? It was even this season wasn't it Chuckle, one game a piece. Talk about Jack and his many clubs maybe you'll be able to fit a trip to Anfield or Celtic Park in too. tup:

Doesn't much resemble one these days with all the Blue Boys on here......

Big difference is Rick, that when any of those teams sign a player, I don't start slavering, whip me knob out and spray the newspaper/telly/pc screen with manfat before bragging about it on here because I am so excited and overcome by the prospect.

I don't think anyone does, some people on here even try to score points off each other, how childish is that.

What do you have on your home made scoreboard as the score between you and Tony from the "My Favourite Non England World Cup Moment Thread?".

Ahhhh but I'm a self confessed nerd who knows that part of me is in geekland. The same as I would if I was a computergames/NFL/WWF fan. But some people don't realise this when banging on about it and percieve these things as kewl..

Are you willing to lay down a £10 wager on Chelsea not being Champions next season?
BTW I don't know where this nonsense about be being a WWF fan is coming from, and it's not like I deny I like computer game is it?
Dr Who is shite though, I'll go on record saying that.

That not the question, £10 that Chelsea will win the Premiership next season, after all you keep telling us how the rest of the Premiership have better managers and are catching up with shrewd buys.

But you keep banging on about how great Chelsea are, put your money where your mouth is and show some faith in your boys. You asked me to bet I asked you, I happily said I'd do both. They have the chequebook, the manager and the players, surely Europe should be as big a doddle as the Premier League. given two of the teams you keep saying are light years behind Chelsea have got to the final the past two seasons.
Rick
1st June 2006, 01:44 PM
I don't think Chelsea are the best team in Europe but I do think they are the best team in the Premiership.
The Premiership title won't be cut and dried next time either, there are at least three better teams managed by better managers that will be potetial champions next season.
Still stand by this? I've never said Chelsea would win the Champions League so no I won't accept that bet.

I said cut and dried and potetially three others sonny. Not they wouldn't so you are asking me to bet on something I didn't say too.
I think Chelsea are one of four teams that can win the Premier League. Any signings made in the last few weeks don't change my mind. I also think they moved backwards instead of going forwards last season too, that is down to their manager. I also think that they are one of eight who can win the champions league, but that would be down to one of two or three if they had a genuine world class manager at the helm.
My convictions tell me that Chelsea and their manager aren't as good as sheep like yoursen big em up to be Rickaaay. To that end I'll take your bet, because I have the bollocks to stand by my convictions.
If your too **** scared to take mine, despite your constant bigging up of the team their manager and their fantabulous recent signings, then that's fine. But what that says to me is, that when going on about them you don't really post what you really think.
Do you want a piece of the Crouch vs Heskey Bet too Rickaaay??

I'm not **** scared to take your bet, I never said Chelsea would win the Champions League so why would I every put money on something I've never mentioned. There is also the difference of the Champions League being a cup competiton and in competitions like that the best team doesn't always win, the League on the otherhand always rewards the best side.
What was this streak of piss vs bag of shite bet by the way?

I never said that Chelsea wouldn't win though did I ?? Unless the operative phrases, potential others and not cut and dried are other things with alternaite meanings in RickWorld
In short, you're asking me to bet on something I never said whilst pappering yoursen and crying foul at me asking you to do the same. Big difference is...I have the balls take your bet.
tone and a bantams soul want to bet me that Heskey will outscore Crouch next season if he signs for Blackburn or Wigan. I say that'll be me taking Candy from a pair of sprogs.

Like I said the Champions League is a cup competition and there is a lot of luck involved as in most cases there is no second chance. The best team doesn't always win but saying that the team that managed to knock out Chelsea in the last two season have won the cup.

So, you don't actually reckon Chelsea are all that good then is what your saying? And the signings of Ballack and Schevwotsit, despite your enthusiasm about them earlier aren't really going to be worth the money because you don't think it'll make em good enough to win the prize they crave.
Maybe they should have not bothered spunking 30 million on Shevchenko and gone for Larsson on a freebie, if it's a Champion's League match winner they're after eh??

Irrespective of whether Chelsea are favourites to win the Champions League or not, you'd be mad to place money on it without getting odds. I'm quite sure if you go down the bookies you can get far better than even money.

Your right you would, especially when you can get 11/2 on Chelsea to win the Champions League. Chelsea to win the league on the other hand are 4/7 at best which is less than even money therefore a good bet if someone accepts it.tup:

So the man who has more clubs in his bag than anyone else and watches them all other than Bradford City wishes to know who we will be rooting for this season...
I find that quite quaint...
City for me as always...
You enjoy your top signing Kenny pmsl rangers reject premiership reject championship reject Miller...
You rave over Liverpool and watch Man ure .. How funny is that...
Go on spinderella spin those posts... What an enchnting thread from start to finish... Proof indeed that the pot and kettle are alive and well on C&B...

I'm not going to take up a bet when I can get better value elsewhere.
As it happens I will put a bet on Chelsea to win the Champions League but it will be on odds of at least 5/1, I'll put my money where my mouth is but where I can get the best return.
Thanks for the even money bet on the title as no bookies will offer that tup:

Ask me the week before the season starts oh City supporter who watches other teams but not city....
Cheap i know but worth it...
I will take on most bets with you Chuckles...As high as you like if the terms suit me...
The transfers are not done yet though so only a biff would want to bet now without knowing who is in who is out and who is injured...
But the wek prior give us a shout...I will defo take you up on the challenge as long as you give me a team you think will win...
That way big man you get to lose twice as much in one go...A tonne it will be then...

BTW this is the same man who said they had absolutley no chance of winning back to back titles too...
