View Full Version : The French have no-chance, do they?

Of lifting the World Cup? MY ARSE:rolleyes:
This its the team they have named to play in their final friendly against China tonight;
Fabien Barthez; Willy Sagnol, Lilian Thuram, William Gallas, Eric Abidal; Claude Makelele, Patrick Vieira, Florent Malouda, Zinedine Zidane (captain); Thierry Henry, Djibril Cisse.
They will start with Cisse & Henry upfront.
How this team have been overlooked as genuine contenders to lift the World Cup again is beyond me as on paper they look a real force:rolleyes:
Time will tell.

Even tho a lot of people don't seem to like him, you have to feel sorry for Djibril Cisse breaking his leg again 2 days before the tournament starts. The break looked hideous on the telly like his last one

4 years ago the French team didn't even score a goal at the World Cup. They aren't that good as a unit if they have to play outside France - their statistics away from home are dire.

With Cisse having broke his leg in last nights friendly they look a lot less of a prospecttdwn:

Not seen it but i feel for the poor *******, the last break was sickening enough - if this ones similar then i just hope he recovers, he was extremely lucky last time - lets hope its 2nd time lucky this time!!

He's a good player IMO, shame about him out, would have had a gamble on him as top scorer! He isn't suited to English game but he is a great talented fast player!

Feel sorry for the fella just days before the biggest tournament of his life, I hope it's not career threatening, the challenge itself was similar to the one Rooney broke his foot in, just two players running for the ball.

I didn't say I wished it on him. Just that I felt sorry for Liverpool who were on the verge of selling him. Which I do.
If you want honesty though, I'm not gonna spend anytime worrying about or giving false sympathy about it. It's very sad, but he's not an England Player and **** happens. It all pails into insignificance at the side of Rooney's Foot and Stevie G's back.

14/1 FRANCE CAN RULE THE WORLD
Looking at the odds, the standout for me is France at 14/1.
So let's have a closer look at Les Bleus to try and work out why they're double the odds of England.
France's sluggish qualifying campaign is seen as one of the biggest negatives - a sure sign that this is a side on the wane.
But, wait a minute, I'm looking at the losses column and there's a zero there. France didn't lose a single game.
And while it's de rigeur to drop into World Cup betting conversations that Serbia & Montenegro only conceded one goal in qualifying, no-one ever mentions that the French only let in two.
THE REST OF THE PIECE IS HERE.. http://www.bettingzone.co.uk/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=betting/06/06/07/manual_131921.html
