Just a quick note for people, Anyone found to be using more than one nickname on the forums will find the username suspended.

I don't want to sound a killjoy but these forums were put online to make things fun and people using multiple aliases casued numerous problems on the offical forums and we dont want those problems here.

I don't want to force people out but then again I don't want the problems we've had on the offical boards.

I can see why Ed doesn’t want to ban anybody, but what do multiple identities achieve anyway??? We must be past the stage of chuckling to ourselves behind a computer screen by now surely!!! Lets just leave that to Shoey, and steely who are still wondering what to do now the OMB has gone!!!!!

It's common practice on most moderated message boards to only allow one identity. It's a bannable offence in most places. Principle is you should be prepared to be identified with what you post, not to have a go at people behind a mask of anonymity. I know a lot of the OMB aliases were jokes, but even so we're better off without the confusion of sockpuppets (normal term for double identitys).

I was just asking the question why leave; if you are confined to one identity then those are the rules. To leave because you are not allowed more than one seems like an overeaction, and 'cutting ones nose off to spite ones face' comes to mind. Yes some of them are funny, but they also cause considerable upset and anger if people are posting personal insults and statements; however I believe that this type of posting will not be allowed in any event.

I am enjoying the new board, and I believe this is a fresh start for everybody; the rules are there for everybody to read, if people adhere to these then there will be no problems.

Well yes for me it does, but it will be down to Ed, who he allows to come onto this board. He has shown himself to be a very talented and generous young man, therefore I cannot see him refusing to allow anyone onto this board intially; however should people not adhere to the rules, then quite rightly they will not be allowed to post. I trust the mods of this board, they have no ulterior motive, other than to keep a good, informative, friendly, and funny board going for the benefit of city fans. It is still evolving and is quite exciting waiting for what Ed has in store for us.

Rabbi when was the last time you were in Accrington on a Sunday? last I heard they will still eating roast beef and yorkshire puddings, bending to the ultimate Yorkshire's own superior feast:)

I'm with Baldy on this one. The various message boards I've been involved with which have allowed multiple id's have all suffered from problems at some time, some worse than others. At the risk of losing out on a bit of good-natured humorous creativity, I'd prefer to see a strict policy of 1 identity per person.

And it's just occurred to me -- with the increased amount of traffic on this site now, the chatroom could get "interesting" when the new season gets under way...!
