View Full Version : Very pleasing performance

If we play like that for the rest of the season we should be fine, yes we lost but it was a good performance. We perhaps maybe lacked a cutting edge but still created enough chances to have won the game against a very good side.

I swear 365 days ago we were saying almost the exact same thing. Dont be fooled

maybe so but there was something extra out there today and that to me was the passion that has been missing - I reckon we can do well this season.

A great performance. I disagree re cutting edge. But for a top class performance from Smith in goal - we would have had 2 goals which were denied by top drawer saves. We could have had a penalty, and Windass nearly scored a sublime goal with a lob. I would have taken that number of chances away against the promotion favourites. On another day we would have scored 1 or 2 goals

Wasn't just our own supporters who thought we played well:

"After that game i will tip BRadford for the top 8"

"thy will be in contention for the play-offs"

I've been busy - I packed in the day job and I set up a property business.

One game isn't enough to draw conclusions either way - we will have a better idea of the way the season will go after 10 matches that give the luck chance to even out a bit.

Having said that, I was impressed. We didn't get in till after their goal because of the traffic queues on the M1, so I don't know how we looked for the first quarter of an hour, but I thought we at least deserved a draw on the balance of play that I saw.

Great, wippee we lost ffs:mad: ...get over yourselfs, we LOST to a crap team IMO...like Baldy says, after 10 games we'll have a better idea of our chances;)

On that performance yesterday Forest will be nearer the relegation zone than promotion zone - one things for sure, if they're the benchmark for a promotion favourite - then i think we have a real possibility ourselves, thought we totally outplayed them and they were shite TBH!!...

Couldnt have put it better myself. The only arguement i had was Todds substitutions again. He took Lee Holmes off instead of taking the less of a threat JJ off,who never took a man on and always cut inside and then miss placing his pass.He also took Graham off who looked the biggest threat up front and it should have been Windass who came off,as in my opinion he had a poor game.

I thought the Forest back line kept a tight rein on our forwards and the number of opportunities proved this , much like our defence on theirs.
I enjoyed the game and we stepped up a gear in the second half - Forest and City for the Top 6 - good point about Holmes being taken off Jimmy - we said the same yesterday.

Why didn't JoCo start? ...he was electric against Man City but Todd again showed his contempt for the clubs home grown youngsters & played his new "toys"tdwn: ...Colbeck gave Forests left-back a torrid time in the game at VP last season, why didn't Todd see this?....overall though i was pleased with the teams attitude who took the game to Forest for large parts of the game, sadly without creating many clear cut chances!...Like previously said on here, Turd seemed tto take the wrong players off...AGAINtdwn:

I have to agree with the reprobates on this one !

I too think Forest looked decidedly average yesterday and, if they are classed as promotion fodder then there is definitely hope for us this season. We should have won that one or at the very least come away with a point !

I agree Windass should have been subbed! and what is the story with EJ? injured? not injured? anyonw know ?

EJ came on?....thought i imagined that in a drunken stupor?
Dont know whats going on there TBH:confused: ...we'll see a proper quality team when Bristol City come to VP on tuesday IMO!

it's hard top judge from the first few games - look at Carlisle last season - lost the first 4 games and then ended up promoted - Forest will be up there as they have the strength in depth and can always sign a couple more players up.

You're on

And btw what did Colbeck do when he came on apart from nothing, he had plenty of time to make an impact and did very very little.

Ok mate, bet ontup: ...hope your not a welcher?;) As for Colbeck, he's probably wondering wtf he has to do to get a starting place?....Its sometimes hard coming on as a sub, you either have a blinder or struggle to adjust to the pace of the game!
