It looks like another competitive selection tonight then. Just for beer's sake I'll inject some optimism into my veins! Although I think it will be a 1-1 draw (see score prediction thread) I am excited about the prospect of a team who must inject passion and commitment into their game due to the quality of the fringe players. I foresee Todd having a selection headache in a few positions and look forward to this becoming a frequent problem for him.

Nice to see an enthusiastic Todd and for once he is focusing on the positives from the performance. Shame he didn't make a positive reference to the fans but hey you can't win em all! Maybe tonight with the roar of the VP faithful pushing our boys on his post-match interview might stretch to including a mention for us guys!

Unfortunatley one of the last times we didn't have a goalkeeper on the bench our Keeper got sent off.
Ricketts is unpredictable at the best of times and putting an extra keeper on the bench is a good idea.
You should be able to fit 2 attackers within the other 4 subs if you are daring enough.

I trust our back four enough to have 1 defender, maybe just keep doyle on the bench with an attacking midfeilder 2 strikers and a keeper? Doyl could cover a defender if needed!

Why 2 strikers? I'd always load up midfielders on the bench - they are more likely to get injured IMHO. Only option is replace Howarth with a striker on the bench and then if Ricketts is injured, Deano goes in the net.
