A practically full strength Chelsea side give Liverpool reserves a good workout.

John Arniee Riise runs the length of the pitch to chuck in an early contender for Goal of the Season

Micheal No Ballacks feigns an injury cos he found Sissoko (Who reminds me of a pre past it Viera, but potentially better) too rough for him.

Bellers and Pete show they are going to be the New Keegan and Toshack.

Lampard continuing from where he left off in Germany and sends a couple of matchballs to Swansea.

Liverpool introduce their big guns and widen the gulf in class even further

The England Captain caught eating his packed lunch whilst Crouch scores a great header from a pinpoint Bellamy Cross.

A Didier Drogba lookalikey is employed by Jose to stand in the centre circle with his hands on his hips watching the game till he called him back to sit in the dugout.

Rafa shows Jose with the overall quality in his squad today that it's possible to make good signings at reasonable fees.

All in all a good afternoon that'd have been more entertaining were Liverpool playing a big club and give the traditional Premier League Curtain raiser the occasion it deserves.tup:

I think Chelsea were only missing Makalele and Jose showed what crap decision he can make by playing 4-3-3 against a far better drilled Liverpool side.

Liverpool without Alonso and Gerrard (key playmakers) for much of the game but seemed up to it thanks to Momo Sissoko's fantastic performaces.

Early doors yet and I don't think Chelsea are going to relinquish the title just yet (its only the Charity Shield ffs!) but it looks more of a 4 horse race for this one. Who will win...money or brains? I might put a sneaky bet on someone other than Chelsea to win the title this season!

Waiting for the Jose Cockmunching Brigade to air their flawed takes on how Chelsea were the better side...

Liverpool
Chelscum
Manure
Arsenal
Tottingham

Im gunna have a sneaky bet on pompey to be a very big outsider and sneak in for europe either uefa cup or CL

Lots of money and probably the best manager at the moment after his heroics last season!

You reckon Portsmouth will do well this season then Yeadon? I'm not too sure if they'll escape mid-table mediocrity. I was gonna put a bet on Villa getting relegated this season at the end of last season but I think they might be vying for the last European slot with the new take-over and lil O'Neil in charge.

I do, they have some good players and a decent manager!

I think this season may be too early for Villa but next year i can see them coming good again. Sneaky feeling for Man City this year for a top 6 spot

Aye i'm off to the Chelsea Man City game on Sunday. My mate's a Man City fan and he's pretty optomistic about their chances this season :)
