Is it just me or does anyone else find the general opinion of City fans on Jacko disgraceful? Whilst he's obviously a prime target for a bit of banter managing our nearest and dearest i think some of the stick he gets is frankly embarrassing.....
No doubt there's others on here who remember his contribution to City in his two spells, one of my early hero's and a cracking centre half, especially when he 1st took over as captain, he seemed to thrive on it.....
Apart from this year (when he had a genuine excuse not to be there) i've seen him at the fire memorial service in centenary square every year that i can remember.....
I just hope the little chav bastards lay off the fookin embarrassing "paedophile" chant when we play the TB's this season....tdwn:

I'm impartial to Peter Jackson. I know he did well for the club but other than that I know sod all about him; Which means I don't join in with such chants!

i think that a lot of the stick comes from the fact that many people have a deep hatred of hudderfield and as a former city favourite people don't like seeing him on that side of w.yorks.
i take it this comes after my post on the OMB so i will add to this that i think the way he applies himself as manager is sometimes, in my opinion, disgraceful and very disrespectful to the opposition. He will often get involved in any brawls between players that are on his side of the pitch, including the embarrasingly disgraceful incident on saturday, and his interviews after the match often hint that he thinks they are too good for this league and are always being cheated - eg the playoff semi-final last year.
that are my views on him. as a person he is a sound bloke but as a professional manager i think he could sort himself out a bit

To be fair though he wears his heart on his sleeve - we'd all surely like Todd to be like that wouldn't we?.....
He's very much like Chris Kamara in that respect and he was loved by the fans......i remember at Portsmouth when Darren Moore was kicked on the ground after he'd been legged - Kammy ran down the pitch and jumped on the aggressors back lol - he was like a big kid......i suppose its one of them things - you hate it when you see it from others, but love it if "one of your own" acts like that!!

Jacko was ****ing shite when he came back from Newcastle.
As a manager he has talked about City with a contempt he's made no attempt to mask. He has no good feeling for us at all now.
When The Puppies are doing well he always talks about "My Players" when the aren't it's "The Players"
IMHO he's an incredibly loathsome individual not worthy of any respect from City fans for anything he's done post leaving for Newcastle.
That said, I'd have him as our manager in a breath.

Read "Four Minutes From Hell" and you might find that his private opinion about City is a bit different to the public one. Whatever he does for the terriers you can never take it away from him that he went beyond the call of duty on that fateful day and he will forever be linked with us for what I hope will be favourable reasons. Quite rightly he shows loyalty to his current Club but in his heart of hearts he will never forget City for some good reasons but predominently because of that horrible day.

He weren't the player he was when he left City for Newcastle - but he weren't "shite".....nowt like exaggerating a bit eh Dave?....
Don't know where you got the "he hates City" bit from Chuckle, he's manager of T'udders, hardly gonna slag em off and publicly praise us - i bet over a pint if you were to ask him on the quiet he'd tell you exactly the opposite of what you profess.....
Every player has "their club" - Jewell admitted a while back that we were his, its usually the first club that gave you your chance or the one where you made most appearances, or where you had a good rapport with the fans, Hendrie and McCall class us as "their club" as would folk like Beagrie no doubt, and i bet you any money Jacko would too!!....
All this aside - no fekker deserves to have a paedophile chant sung about him, which was the main point in the thread, especially one who's been a City favourite in the past.....Dave'll disagree no doubt....

As a player he was fine but since he's been a manager i just don't like his manner, demeanour and arrogant attitude. On Saturday he came out with the comment that Town are the side that everyone will want to beat this year because of what we achieved, - utter bullshit, Forest maybe , Brentford 7 Bristol City maybe & then start talking. He genuinely was hostile to us earlier after he left us although last season admittedly he wasn't as bad

Quite honestly I think the paedophile chant is disgusting, associating anyone with scum like that if they are innocent must be very upsetting for the people and their families being targeted. The fact that it's being aimed at a former City hero is a bloody disgrace. You can never be sure, but some people might believe it and physically attack him one day if they meet him in a pub or on the street. People have been known to attack pediatricians because their job title is similar to paedophile.
Ignorance eh?
I wouldn't say no to him being manager at Bradford, I could understand it if he turned the job down though.

Matty,
Why Would I disagree?? I'm not aware of the Peadophile chant, but I will say now that it's offside. Same as your glee at the fact that Henrik Larsson has been subject to two injuries that'd have crippled mere footballing Mortals despite the fact that even in plaster, he was still a million light years in front of anything Rangers have ever had is offside.
Matty, there is no way after his quotes and attitude as a manager, that Jacko will say over a pint, in private or otherwise we are his club. He told John Shires on the Football League Round Up one night, during our promotion to the Prem season, that Hudders are his club and he dislikes and has no respect for City. That was the famous turning point of him losing the City fans.
As for exagerrating Jacko'scontribution on his return from Newcastle, then I hold my hands up, guilty as charged I was exagerrating big style!! By saying he was ****ing shite, is a total, total exagerration. He was far worse than ****ing shite, he was complete utter utter shite with peanuts sweetcorn, tomato skins, dropped from the arse of a diahorretic pig that had been drinking a cocktail of Guinness and Prune Juice with crumbled up fig biscuits poured over baked beans that had been sprinkled with prescription only laxative, created in the laborotary of the Sloppy Turd Reaserch Foundation, based at Yale University!!
City were desperate to get shot, almost as soon as we resigned him for a then record fee and were grateful when some thick ****s obliged. Those thick ****s were the Puppies and Jacko has preened over em ever since!

I've never heard anything from him that implies he despises us , I despise those who forgegt about his first stint with the club - youngest ever captain when Mulhall gave him the job at 19 was it - led the backline well and a good role model.
Hudders is a big part of his life now of course - I can live with that.

and another point is: when l**ds play against man utd how do you reckon they will react to alan smith. there are many other examples. hudders to some are our biggest rivals, and to most others they are big rivals. the fact is jacko doesn't give a **** about bradford cos if he did he wouldnt manage there. i know he has done very respectable things away from the football with the fire and everything but this comes down to football - we hate hudders and if he was in anyway loyal to bradford or supported us in any way he would be there.

No, this comes down to money and opportunity. To be fair to Jacko he has a rapport with huddersfield having played for them as well. He was offered an opportunity and took it, he did reasonably well and for whatever reason parted company, they asked him back he went back. In the first place I wouldn't have expected him to think, hang about I can't take this job because I have links with City. I would have expected him to think about the money and the opportunity. The question of loyalty only exists in the fans' heads - if you are working in the game it pretty much becomes a business decision, with very few rare exceptions like Bull staying at Wolves so long, Shearer snubbing Man Utd for newcastle and that's all I can think of.

My opinions on Jacko are thus;
First stint at Bradford where he came through the ranks, become the clubs youngest captain, led the team with skill, bravery & passion & his action/reaction to the fire disaster, well thats the Peter Jackson i want to remembertup:
Second stint when he arrived from Newcastle, it was clear from the first game he wasn't the same player we'd sold to them:( ...Then there's his poor attitude to everything BCFC since he left us for the TBstdwn: while at the same time claiming "Town are & alway's will be MY team" utter bollox he seems to spout when interviewed:mad:
Like others have said already i'd have him here as manager tomorrow & rate his managerial skills....he's been good for the TBstdwn: , they lost their way when he was sacked at the Gayfarm & i believe he will get them into the Championship if given enough time, just hope we get there before them thoughtup:
