Anyone can score against piss poor opposition...Added to that most players can look above average playing in those matches...

If you don't rate Crouch T, that's your perogative mate;)

For me though, a target man type striker should be good at heading & holding up the ball,also linking the attack with the midfield & wingers, Crouch does ALL of these but more importantly he scores GOALS jump: ...OK against the better teams he will have less chances & be more tightly marked, but im pretty confident Crouch could score against anyone with the right service, he's that awkward to play against!

Maybe in a few years time he will have disappeared into the soccer wilderness, but right here, right now he'll do for metup:

Owen, Rooney and Ashton are all better than Crouch - but they're all injured or unavailable - so what do you do? You pick your 4th choice striker and hope he scores - and by fook has he done that.....he must have one of the best goals per game ratio ever for an international striker - sure, he's played against shite, but what is he supposed to do? Wait until he plays someone decent before he scores? To use an old cliche' you can only beat/score against whats put in front of you - the guy's done that big time and he's never let us down!!.....

As far as Heskey goes - as the England fans were chanting at the world cup in Cologne to the German fans...
