Did anyone hear the Government official on the Radio saying how important it is to protect Venables from the public & his new identity would not be revealed at any cost?

I just wondered how society has got to this stage where scum like child murderers are protected and kept at any cost when the majority of the public would rather they hung or never saw the light of day ever again!
