Hi all, there's a new group setting up at VP by the name of Friends of Bradford City.
It's main aim is to fund raise for the club in various ways.
Firstly there is to be a 50/50 draw that will be drawn at every home game where of course 50% of the money raised will be paid out to the lucky winner.
The beneficiaries of this draw will be the Youth team set up.
The club are asking for volunteers to sell tickets which will be handed in prior to each game.
The more tickets you sell the more points you'll acquire which you can turn into prizes ranging from signed footballs to tickets for home games in the 1911 and banqueting suites.
If you are able to help you can contact myself or the club (David Baldwin) for more details.

... THIS IS MY CITY TONIGHT ... THIS IS MY CITY ALWAYS ...
You shouldn't take message board relationships seriously Tommy. Especially as being involved in this benefits the club and not CibaSteve.

Sorry Mate, "Mugs for Rhodes & Lawn" would be a more realistic name for the group. Therefore I'm out!
It reminds me of the "Big Society" idea of the current govt., where everyone does stuff voluntarily and for free so that they dont have to organise or pay for it....
E.I.E.I.E.I.O UP THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE WE GO
Can we use the points to get signed stuff from a decent football side, ??
People will give up their free time to collect for BCFC's millionaire owners? When they don't publish the company accounts and it's impossible to verify what they're spending the money on? When they could sell shares to raise finance?
TRB101, The trust been knocked back again for a seat on the board then? noses out of joint?![]()
Arm Chair Fan ...
Eh? Haven't you realised yet? Ordinary supporters are not required to have seats on the board, even though collectively they are Bradford City's largest source of income. I feel this is likely to remain the case for some time yet. Anyway, I can't speak for the Trust any more than you can.
Personally I love the German setup, which makes ours look very mickey mouse indeed. The closest we could get to the same ownership model in this country would probably be the community interest company, which I'm very much in favour of. Because of the difficulty industrial and provident societies can have in raising investment capital, I expect Wimbledon and FCUM to consider converting to this form of ownership ... before motoring on ahead of City and the rest.

Why do we want "fans" on the board when the "fans" who have been in charge since Gibb left the building have took us down 3 divisions and almost out of business?![]()
Do you know what "nemesis" means? A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent. Personified in this case by an 'orrible coont... me.

which 'democracies' have produced better results?? personally, having dealt with commitees for the last forty years, i'm of the opinion that the best commitee has three members ,one poorly and one on holiday!! keep football out of the hands of idiots!!
I'm new to http://www.claretandbanter.co.uk/! I'm glad I found the number 1 forum for Bradford City fans!
Who would be a football chairman? You put millions in and all you get is grief, and you wonder why no one else has come in to take over BCFC !!

It's well known the club is up for grabs at a price - problem at the moment is the ground ownership which until resolved will put off many potential buyers and for all the flak dished out, we do now at least look a better run club - without the evidence to say much to the contrary then that will do for me - ML is no mug whatever anyone thinks.
I want to see the club win matches and gain promotion - if they do that and are able to move back up the pyramid a bit then that will do for me, as for the publishing of accounts and the financial visibility, well unless the FL changes the rulebook then we won't see any change unless the turnover shoots up - look at the lot down the road in Beeston, the supporters aint too bothered now it seems, despite Capt Birdseye's set up being almost impossible to verify.
What's wrong with some fans wanting to help out a bit really?............I've grown weary of the conspiracy and mutiny plots now - nah, 90 points and promotion and I'll be a happy boy chomping at the bit to pay more for next seasons ticket deals xxxxx

I hear that for £8m someone could have full control of BCFC & the ground. That includes £5m to Gibb for the ground & £3m to the Rhodes family/Lawn.
Flamingoland has had job losses at both the Cleethorpe park and Pickering. So its not that they are not in a position to hold onto VP. However, it may be the best earner at the moment.
What gets me is the the council would rather throw £millions into further studies on Odsal Sporting Village rather that save cash and make VP a true City wide resource and spend the money saved on other issues.
